VAGCAT lists about four different part numbers for the hall sensor depending on which distributor is fitted.
I've taken my hall sender out and the it's clearly Bosch but the only part numbers I can see on on it are 1 230 500 221, which is on the circular white plastic cover, 1 230 329 020 which is on the the connector, and 1 230 500 147 on the dust cover below the rotor arm (so not part of the sender).
Is anyone able to look up these numbers and provide equivalents?
It's an EX 1.8 carb 1985.

Try to look for a partnumber on the distributor.
The numbers you have found are partnumbers on the sensor but says litle about the part it self.
