Engine and Engine Bay Cleaning

Post by jxp »

I am going to start cleaning my engine bay and engine to bring it up as best I can. Any tips for getting the best finish..... Engine bay still has a lot of the factory wax protecive layer on it.

Cheers

I used hyperclean and engine gunk (cleaner) applied it by brush and one of them plant sprayers. Done it on a hottish engine left it to soak for 30 mins or so then used the plant sprayer thing again with warm soapy water, carried on doing that till i was happy with it... :good:

similar to Jake - i use the Autoglym engine/degreasant stuff though.

Some wire brush action and semi-matt finish 'son of a gun' or 'armorall' should result in this look - clean yes but it's still an engine bay.

Cheers guys. Bought most of tonys chrome engine bay parts so I want to do a good job on the engine and bay before fitting. Hopefully have a facelifted engine and bay in the next month or so. Nice project for the dark nights........
