Just came across this

and I am now seriously considering doing the same.
Has anyone on here done anything the same or got any tips.
The blasting bit looks pretty straight forward (spray hard powder at rust metal), its more the zinc plating I was after some advice on.

i swear there is a diy on the plating on the mk1golf owners forum? (cant find it at the mo because im on the train)
when you buy the kit, its really straight forward stuff, a couple mates have done it before and I used to work in a motorsport garage
opposite a chromers/ metal finishers, they said that pretty much anything they do can be done small scale at home on the cheap easily
