carb care

Post by james butler »

had to call out a specialist to help tune my datsun to get it running 100% and used a company called Carb Care owned and run by a guy called Alan.
not only did he do a fantastic job, he was quite happy to explain what he was doing and how to do it.
another bonus is he does mobile repairs around birmingham.
he actually wanted to have a tinker with the weber on the rocco and got that tweaked a bit for free.

depends on whether you take your car to him or call him out.
he charged me on call out £100 for near enough three hours. (most of the time was him stripping the carbs down to make sure they were ok)
to tune a weber 32/34 i cant see it taking to long to set up, ring him n ask.

Had an idea, think having him at this years meet would be a good idea? He could do good business and we could all be tuned up, even better if he gives a special rate!

ive emailed him to ask if hes up for it so will have to wait for his response.
the only thing im concerned about is will cosford be willing to allow tuning and such like on their premises and the exchange of money on site?

great news everybody, alan from carb-care has agreed to come to cosford and be our mobile tuner, hes also interested in our club scene and happy to be part of it.

so whats next?

i dont want to tread on the event organisers toes here so do we (as a club) have to inform Cosford that this guys going to be on site or is it unimportant as long as hes not slopping petrol filled carbs everywhere?
