Re: White lady.. V8 tube chassis heading for 10's

Post by Rocco Horror »

Haven't been on here in a while, so really pleased to see this taking shape! In a way a shame you're not using the Audi motor but i can understand why the Ford makes sense financially. Did you ever get to check out Spencer Tramm's Corrado? Jeff Bull alcohol motor, transbrake IIRC and solid 8-second passes all day long. Spencer once told me he had less in the motor than most of the 11 second aircooled guys, which i can well believe. My drag Scirocco idea is stilll just that, an idea!

Cheers all, I saw Spencer Tramm's old Corrado (now resides in Germany with Frank Wambach) earlier in the year when it was over at the Pod. Lovely motor! Think it runs a 620ci motor compared to my 351ci in mine. I am still going for 10's :)
The Audi lump pushed 340bhp which was good but to push the limits was expensive..
Winter updates will happen but I suspect nothing till January because of funds. I have however come to what I think is the halfway point in cost so it can only be down hill from now and with the fabrication finished we can start sticking stuff on!

Exciting times ahead but still a year away at least so Summer 2017 is the target..

Ok so this happened!
Zender z400 bodykit for the white lady! This puts the car at the next level in looks for what will be a bit of a monster.
I think you will agree it will suit beautifully
Coming this year at some point from the Netherlands and perhaps collected at the national meet.
Car due back in the workshop in the coming weeks for more work

just saw this thread rusty dan , all i can say is gobsmacked , i can appreciate the effort and time ( money included ) gone into this project
a friend drags a mk2 escort with a 434 chevy in and his wife competes with a e36 bmw with ls2 motor, and i see the passion that goes into it

Thanks mark and yes it's a lot of money and dedication to see it through. I have had my doubts I can do it and the cost is unreal! Maybe this time next year I will have something near complete with just the engine to build.

Keep up with the good work mate. These things take time! But it's gonna be well worth it when your doin 130mph+ at the end of the strip!!
Kit is gonna look sweet. It's very similar to mine. Didn't know the did one like that!

Cheers Chaps, there was a red rocco on here kicking about I think that had the same kit also. I like the Siedl kits also. I was looking at the Reiger kit some years ago for mine which were knocking around £2500 obviously never happened.
Will the Reiger rocco be at the National?

So last night saw the White lady come out of hibernation ready for its next stint in building. The next 2 weeks are set to be busy with the car and we should have rolling, steering seated, floor and firewalls complete as well as the body mounted. If we can make it to chassis painting I will be over the moon!
