Re: 1982 mk2 build
i was lucky with the powdercoating and sandblasting as i use them for our instrumention automation projects and the bar is set high , they have found out the hard way at times when ive rejected stuff and made them do it again as i check the thickness electronically so they cannot skimp, he is doing my home gym this weekend as the wifey decide she wants another colour to match the room ( typical )
monday he is having 18 tons of steel dropped of from 1 of the projects we are doing so he better do my gym for stuffall or i will drag his payment out the buggar

Re: 1982 mk2 build
ok quick update
got the bodge jobs sorted , sorry pics look funny but rocco is upside down at the mo
hack job inside pass wheel well sorted
new battery tray fitted
chassis leg replaced , shadrack having a whale of a time with underbody sealer
bulkhead repaired and new holes drilled for new type clutch system
going to leave the 2 holes the previous guys drilled for the cable shift box and use them to route the aircon pipes into the cab , better tha going through the scuttle tray which was the standard routing from the factory
got my guys to machine the alt bracket and remove the stuff for the power steering but left aircon mountings as it is coming , aircon pump grew legs and made its way to my daughters b7 audi as hers just packed up but will get another. but motor buttoned up to the gearbox , just still waiting for the epytech mounts so i can finish the side cover off , old plastic cover was knackered so have new one pitching tom at the agents

Re: 1982 mk2 build
got everything buttoned up under the car this weekend and got it back on its wheels , new fuel and brake lines in , pump installed , clutch cable kit in , brake booster in ( i saw the diffs between the rocco and the golf , the rocco has an extension on the booster bracket and sits 20mm further away from the bulkhead than the golf )
dont know if it can be removed and refitted to the golf cantilever setup , but will have a go at it and let know.
daughter caught me off guard , hate pics
clutch kit in
2 problems so far , larger fuel tank sits a bit hard on rear axle , will get 10mm spacers machined up to move pivot point of axle beam away from the body , should then clear
then the wheels catch the new front calipers , and i hate the spacers they sell at the wheel shops , so will get the guys to machine up 5 mm spacers that include the spigot ring from stainless steel
