Replacing front engine mount

Post by daveyheats »

Hi all, can't seem to find anything in Haynes on how best to do this, so wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea of what's involved and the best way to do this.

Cheers!

You will need a bit of wood and jack underneath the engine sump to hold the engine up when removing the front mount, undo the 2 bolts which also hold the starter motor on (allen key bolts) you will need to support the starter motor somewhere and then the metal part of the mount should come off, it may need a little tap. Pull off the rubber mount and slid the new mount on, I would not touch the cup part of the front mount which is bolted to the front valance as that should be lined up already unless the engine is rocking about once the new mount is fitted.

Video showing front mount at about 5mins and 7 mins... lots of talking on the video and most not much use to you :-D
