Any MK2 Breakers in the UK

Post by daveyheats »

Afternoon all,

Just a quick one to see if anyone knows of any breakers yards that tend to have MK2 Sciroccos in? Could be a really helpful source of bits and pieces if there are any out there!

Cheers,
Dave

Cant say I’ve seen a Mk2 scirocco in a scrap yard for years.

There’s a few places which dismantle VWs who advertise stuff on ebay

When I was after front struts for my Mk2 a couple of years ago I struck lucky as there was one in my local breakers yard with rear end damage. I'm pretty sure I found that via eBay but it might have been via Google search. You have to watch that the latter tends to return ads anything up to 15 years old.

If you need parts just ask here, enough people, among me, who have parts for sale.

Original or reproductions of all sorts.

Currently on the lookout for a replacement metering head if anyone has one for sale!

Scratch the metering head need, as I managed to buy a replacement unit thankfully.

Still on the lookout for a red drivers side door, and potentially any other red bodywork that's for sale.

Any parts found in red will never match your red car.

Red is thé colour wich goes off first and not one car will be the same after 30 years.

Polishing might help but never for that long.

Indeed, it could look a little odd if/when I do manage to get hold of one. The long term plan is a respray though, so I could definitely live with it for a while. The main issue at the moment is the rust on my current drivers door.
