Seats - Reupholstery

Post by Fresco3000 »

I have a decent set of leather seats, but the drivers is a bit shabby.

Has anyone had theirs reupholstered? Looking at rough cost and possible recommendations.

I would look at restoration of 'shabby' seat rather than refurbishment. Keep the old leather, don't re-new.

It's quite rough in places but will look into that. Probably cheaper too.

It's amazing what experts can do to old and tired leather.

Up to you but I had my seats re-upholstered in leather and had the door cards done too for about £1400 all in
Chose colour of leather, stitching and piping
While the seats were stripped to their metal frames I also welded up the parts that often cause the bolsters to wear through and split the seams
Old leather can be reconditioned but it’s not going to last as long as having it replaced
That said you probably won’t get away having one part of it replaced and look the same as the rest.

Does anyone know where to get new foams for the bolsters?
Also does anyone have a set of old covers to use as patterns for new. Wouldn't mind making them myself.

There is a couple of style of seat foams so you may need to check which type you have as later cars had a 1 piece set up.
