Alloy refurb pricing - or upgrade?

Post by frlrubett »

Been searching around London area for someone to refurb my 13" BBS Ra's on my Scala. Prices have been from 150 (bloke on gumtree) to 400. What should I expect? The wheels need stripping down and the corrosion removed, then re coated back to the original. Everyone I have spoken to have not mentioned welding, filling etc but someone asked if I wanted them in a fancy colour...

Alternatively there are these a number of ready reconditioned alloys with tyres online for the same sort of price.

or do I go bigger and better all together has anyone got anything for sale?

i would be wary of paying 150 for a set, just make sure you use a company with good feedback. ive used rolling rims in dunmow to strip my alloys, they've got good reviews.

Could I drop 15s straight onto the car as is and it will ride fine?

yes, id suggest getting the tracking checked/done once the new wheels are fitted, made a huge difference to how mine drives.
