Just bought a Mk1 GLi and had hoped to fit my existing Rota RB's with 15x8's on them (195/50 15's), but having dug them out they are ET25 so I suspect to wide for the rims.
What would the best size/ET for a MK1 to fill the arches without risk of rubbing the arches? And ideally throwing the handling/steering to much (I know, I know).
Any recommendations (and pics ?) would be appreciated.
Ultimate size for Mk1?

Re: Ultimate size for Mk1?
Et30 7x15 on a 195/45-15 Tyre is my set up.
Avoids poke, fills arches without being stupidly low.
See my ‘gitanes’ thread on the project section.

As above, 7x15 ET30-35 ideally - 195/50 or 195/45 depending on how low you're running.
7x16, 6x16 can also work with similar offsets and 195/45 or 195/40 tyres.
20mm spacers at rear - or staggered offsets on the wheels really help to fill that rear arch up.
I do have a little bit of experience in this area
