MK2 Banded steels query

Post by jpr1977 »

Anyone running a MK2 on banded steels?

If so what size banding and tyres have you gone for?

Just looking at possabilities for the spare set in the garage that I may 'tinker with...

ive allways thought it would be funny to band some space savers just for creative origenality.
plus it would look cool as they would end up with a 4inch plus dish!

Bamdedsteelwheels did the ones on my Audi for £200. Highly recommended them. He's in Devon but does postage.

it was on my audi a3 so not really relevent to the rocco. but i had 16x6inch wheels. the rears were banded to 8.5inch and front to 8.25 inch. The .25 of an inch is suprisingly noticable! all welds were ground smooth so no noticable weld on the outside and balanced with hardly any weights! i was impressed to be fair.

his prices have gone up a touch since i had mine done.

not sure a vary useful pic, but here it is
