Volvo 480 alloys on a Mk2??

Post by Jimmytdi »

Ive been offered a set of 15" alloys from a volvo 480, they look like these:

I know the pcd is right, not sure about the offset yet but I was wondering if anyone had ever fitted any 4 stud volvo wheels to a mk2 before?

Luckily, for our eyes, you should find that the centre bore is too small. Quick google shows them to be 52.1mm whereas VW are 57.1mm

Oh no! Thanks for that mr.brown, I never even considered the centre bore size would be an issue. Darn those Swedes and their small wheel centre bore sizes!

Check the centre bore, as these volvos I think used quite a lot of Renault mechanicals, and renaults have a 60mm centre bore so would fit with some spiggot rings. Either that or if they are to small, get them machined out. Quick and easy job for an engineering place, so probably wpuldnt cost much.

Do it, I like them. Nice to see something different

I didnt bother in the end. The centre bore was only 52.1mm, i contacted two local firms about enlarging it, one wanted £100 and the other wasnt interested!

I'm now looking a set of 14" zandvoort wheels from a b3 passat gt :-)
Its not that I'm not happy with the p-slots on my car, in fact I want to keep it as original as i can but it really annoys me not being able to get any centre caps!

Zandvoort are nice looking wheels, they were fitted on some Canadian models as standard so do suit the car.

How many centrecaps do you need for the P-slots?

Im missing 3 centres for the p-slots.
Picking up the Zandvoorts tomorrow and I have a feeling the centres might fit both sets of wheels, the mounting clip looks the same but not sure of the outer diameter
