Problem putting fuel in

Post by Jimbog »

Hi All,

I have a 93 K reg mk2 GT2 and every time I put fuel in at the petrol station I cannot keep the pump lever on the fuel nozzle from cutting off. I have to stand there and keep squeezing the lever adding fuel bit by bit. I have tried positioning the nozzle in different positions etc but I cannot get fuel to continuously flow into the tank. As far as i can see the filler neck is in good shape. Is there a pressure release valve or something somewhere that may be blocked?

Think that is a sign of a blocked breather

there is a half inch pipe that joins the filler neck aperture to the top of the tank to allow it to breathe, as black gtx says theres a good chance its blocked so the escaping air cannot get out other than back up the filler pipe which will cause it to trigger.

Check the hose number 10, could be block.
