v power nitro

Post by james butler »

i filled half a tank of v power nitro into the rocco in the week and before i could complete the journey home my idle has gone erratic and the blooming thing is jerky when trawling in traffic.
literally the only thing has changed is using v power nitro instead of the usual bp ultimate.

what do you reckon? bad batch of fuel maybe?

Stick to 97 ron ultimate for the best results

Possible contamination, there is nothing wrong with V Nitro. You may want to siphon off what's left in the tank and refill.

Having said that, you may want to check that you haven't suffered a coincidental failure of something in the fuel system first.

Its the only stuff I use tbh James - never had an issue in all its various incarnations over last 10-15 years.

I only use V power with no issues to date, so perhaps a bad batch?

really odd.
took it out for a blast today and had the same symtoms
so i tweeked the fuel mix richer and all seems to be running ok. really odd only ting i can think of is its because its been tuned on 97 and it doesnt like 99? sort of the same as running it on 95 if its been tuned for 97 issues.
still not convinced though.
you know when you just know somethings up with the car, it just doesnt feel right.
in future i will definately be sticking to 97 bp ultimate for me.

last time i used a high octane fuel was tesco super unleaded which i think was 99 ron and the rubber pipe between tank and filler gave way :dash:
not sure if it was actually the fuel but it would explain why the rubber hose from tank to hard lines perished and the ones from hard lines to carb.

Might be it. If I went to regular unleaded i'd have to adjust my timing or it would run rough and always over run.
