Re: Clutch pulling through modifications?

Ahhh yes. Theres a little story behind the price he charged. Initially, he intended using his "all singing, all dancing gas welder on my car but, when he'd got it all set up he found he'd run out of gas! So, he asked what i'd used and if he could try it out. So, he welded it up using my Clarke ...

Re: Clutch pulling through modifications?

Mine pulled through about 3 weeks ago. Some previous owner had bodged the job and made a right mess of it. Consequently, i had to cut out all the old metal, about 6"x4" in size. I made up a plate out of some good quality steel sheet i have, then i welded a repair plate on to the top of the...

who also won't tow you for a mis-fuel. none of the recovery clubs will. same as if your spare tyre isn't serviceable. local garage or place of safety only

An emergency solution I saw (on here I think  ) is to carry 2 pairs of mole grips and clamp the cable either side of the bulkhead.
That's a good solution. Wish I'd seen it prior to todays debacle. Lol.

Re: Honed my clutchless driving skills today

Screw the AA. I once stuck the wrong fuel in my passat. They wouldn't take me home even though I had home relay. They said because it was my error, they would have to take me to a recommended garage! I paid the recoverery guy £20 and he took me home, where I sorted the misfuel the next day. Reckon I...

Honed my clutchless driving skills today

So, i went to Barnsley(about a 15 mile drive)today to pick up a 4T gearbox. Well, my clutch has been threatening me for a while and today it finally gave up the ghost. So, a drive home from the chaps house to mine without the clutch was required. I've done this before but forgot just how stressful i...

What he said, /\

Have you considered using twin carbs on it? It'd make the job a lot easier.

Re: are veedubmachine.co.uk parts any good

£42 isn't a bad price delivered....i'd be tempted to get some cheapys of the bay, get em blasted, welded, plastic coated and fitted with poly bushes. May cost a bit more but, the handling will be better, they'll last longer if coated properly and, you'll have made em yourself so kudos points as well...

MacColl hit the nail; on the head...nearly always door membranes.
Also possible that sunroof drainage channels blocked. Get an airline and blow them out if door membranes ok.
