Re: Any mk1 production models with >13" wheels?

Hello!

Probably of little point ( because I cannot find the literature) but I think there was a dealer option of 14" steelies...

Absolutely positive I read this somewhere and I will have another look through the VAG literature I have, I read it somewhere !!!

Happy to be corrected, do not think I ...

Re: Opinions on mk1 G60 value

Hey chap!

I really would not sell, honestly, or break, even worse !

Shame to see / hear that another MK 1 will be broken up for its parts and pieces and such a car with with its history etc

If I could, I would, but I am in no position to swoop down and get this off you, so that is probably not ...

Re: Pic request mk1 roccos with mk1 golf chrome bumpers

Thanks for the info!
I would also like to see some pics before i butcher my plastic bumpers :p
to be honest i'd be happy with a set of metal bumpers which were just nicely finished in silver (obviously chrome would be far better but still...)
so I may give this method a shot

Re: Pic request mk1 roccos with mk1 golf chrome bumpers

Hello!

The metal inserts from the plastic bumpers can be used as chrome bumper replacements, done it myself.

I did not weld up all the holes however as the rubber strip came to my rescue from that point of view.

I MIG welded the rest of the holes and let the chromers and polishers do the rest ...

The first 10 storms imported to the UK all ran 4 speed boxes. :chill:

Mine is a 1979 4 speed so must be one of the first 10 :)

I went to see a green storm once, colour on the logbook was Silver because the actual colour of the green storm is in fact Silver-Green.

Re: MK1 Storm on Ebay

So should a1979 Storm be Brown?

Hello!

Technically it could be either being requested / special order by the customer / dealer or depending on when it was registered.

I do know the Black ones are very very rare and it is such a shade of Black that can be mistaken for Brown or looks like a bad ...

Hello!

The first 10 storms imported to the UK all ran 4 speed boxes. :chill:

I have 2 of them  , would love to think the other 8 are still alive and kicking in some form. :yup:

According to the DVLA this one is in the ultra rare Black paint.

Both of mine pre-date this storm, so it is ...

Re: A Storm is coming (1979 Mk1 Storm)

Are they really fuel lines running through the wheel arch !

Hello!

Not a mod or a re-route of the fuel lines.

The very early mk 1 golfs and 'roccos had the fuel lines running this way.

For 'roccos it shows how old they are, 2 of my storms have the fuel lines running this way, the others ...
