Re: *MK2 Storm Project Brown*
HI Josh
Glad to see more progress and hope it goes well.
And yes - you need to work on the pig smell....
Don't forget if you do find a problem with the drivers window wiring/motor etc - I have spares for this car still (somewhere...)

Re: Scirocco Storm MK2 resto - on a budget!
Just caught up with this - not been on forum for a while.
Sold on as I lost 'love' for it. Happy I used up the spares I had, but did think it needed someone with more patience than I to do a good job.
My interests have moved on from roccos now - very good to see more progress on it.

Update 3rd July ReFitted fuel neck hose rubber and snap ring - added 5 L of fuel Bought leather cream (£8) and fed interior (twice so far - the leather is just absorbing it!) Re: Scirocco Storm MK2 resto - on a budget!
needed a change - so washed the car! Gonna have to remove i thikn the rubbing strips - as the replacement door and front wings are missing them anyway. The body is actually very good - paintwise the only rust marks are on the bonnet - everything else is very good! http://i80.photobucket.com/albums ...

Re: Scirocco Storm MK2 resto - on a budget!
Update - 16th June Finished reinstalling the rear arches - they're OK but need some tidying still. Refitted and began cleaning interior carpet and both door cards. Had to extend one brakeline - and recreate a new brakeline mount on the OS rear sill - for some reason a PO had cut this off...! So new ...

Re: Scirocco Storm MK2 resto - on a budget!
Update - began cutting out the rear rot - I have to do this on a work day and not evenings/weekends due to local national park laws. So spent a few hours cutting and cleaning the rear arches: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j172/doctor924/storm%20rebuild/roccorear002.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com ...

Re: Scirocco Storm MK2 resto - on a budget!
update - May 1st Engine finally installed - and sorted starting problem (which was a mix of poor earths, incorrect valve timing and poor rotor). Engine fires straightaway but cannot tune until I have fully reinstalled the exhaust (no back box at present). Additional costs are - some chemical metal ...

Re: inspiration needed...
update - got engine to start and run today: Solutions were all/some of the below: 1) Cleaned all earths at fusebox - many very bad 2) Adjusted camshaft timing - do NOT believe the marks on the pulley - always check the cam lobes to ensure No.1 is closed! 3) Swapped in rotor arm which did not show ...
