i can help you do the mainifold but i think i may be out of my depth with the gbox?

does it look easy to do?
swaping the flanges is easy really, done it a few times, even have my own "tool" that the hyanes goes on about, is just a 5mm thick steel bar with a long bolt through it :hugegrin:

are they the same ones that said you cant build a 2.1 or 2.3 16v engine or the ones that say that a 16v will not run on twin carbs



one guy that said to me that vr's are heavy in roccos has a 2.1 16v.

but yes im sure its a a awasome conversion to do, a charged one will be great. i know a ...

tis ok dude, i was thinking about for my self but then though g60 again as the vr6 is a heavy engine.... been told it doesnt like corners when put in a rocco/mk1golf shell??

just been looking at g60s on ebay.de and thers a few for 1500 euros :(

i now need another idea...

the gearbox in my Mk1 was out of a MG Montego so not sure what to look for

did i read that right?

they put vw boxes in montegos? :shocking:

but yer you can do it while the box is in the car, its a bit of a pain but can be done, just get the car as high as you can :)

I want to build one that comes over the cam box and drops the boddys to behind the rad. Need to make some dummy pipes up to check clearences.

Ive seen lazer cut flangers (snigger) on fleabay for 10/15 quid

i though about that but i doubt the bonnet would close... and like i said the manifold ...

i wouldnt bodge it back together, i doubt you will get a good seal and your car will run shit...

i didnt tighten one bold on my intake mani enough when i put my weber on and it wasnt running well at all, and that was just one bolt!

i cant think of anything apart from wait for the new mount ...

paid the vast sum of £12 for them (£5 each +vat) :)

mate up lovely to rover 216 gti disks, £10 on new seals and £20 on some paint :hugegrin:

went to start it up the other day, first time for 6months ...

i got a mate who is a fabrcatior to make me one up, it aint the nicest looking thing but it works. its easy on valver heads though.

ask funky diver about cross flow heads, i think he got one off a 1.6 mk4 golf.

no one really likes making them up (bogg bros hate it when you ask!!) as inlet ports 2 and 3 are too close together, though some people will do them.
the next problem is that on the rocco the bulkhead is too close, you need about 100mm from head to carb, i never measured mine as i got a 16v engine ...

ive heard the hottuning ones sometimes catch the steering boot. not sure on this though?
