I havent posted on here for a few years, I was in the process of getting the rocco painted when circumstances drastically changed. The car has been under a cover for a few years and needs a service, brake bleed etc, but the main thing is rust on the rear arch! I messaged Blueshark about his repair ...

I've got an idea in my head, been searching on Google but I haven't found anything yet.. I know Mk1 Golfs could be specified with opening quaterlights, and popout rears, I think they may have been made by Happich but I'm not 100% on that. I know for certain that Happich made rear popouts for the Mk2 ...

All cars have things that need fixing now and again, plus it'll be a lot cheaper to fix the car you have rather than buy a new one. And a Mk2 is a damn sight cooler than 99% of stuff on the roads today..

So don't sell, don't break, fix it and enjoy it!

Right, so... its been a crazy, up in the air, hard to gauge headache the last few days.. But (pending viewing the place) I think its all sorted - smaller and rougher but without the nagging bint taking up space :hehe: So I'll be keeping hold of it and going ahead with the planned engine conversion ...

It'll be going up for sale when it's painted - I cant renew the lease on my place so I need to find a new one, and I'm single again so have nobody to split the deposit or the 1st months rent with.

Its a place called Finesse Auto Bodies in Stockport - really chuffed that I found them tbh, all the other bodyshops round here were talking about masking over the windows and doing it in a day...

Nate - They'd just finished an E-Type and the fella who owned it was picking it up at lunchtime. I tied my trip in with them being at work and got to see a Concours standard Mk1 E Type fire up and drive off..

(well until it starts to fade :hugegrin: ) There's a few little changes being made along the way, nothing too blatant and nothing thats not easily reversed, but enough that you recognise it as being something a little bit ...

I'm not in the market for any suspension at the moment but (assuming they're not showing any dampness) I'd give £50 for those all day long :D

If you end up goign for that particular manifold, can you let us know what its like in terms of fit and finish? Some reports say its perfect, an exact match of a supersprint but then other people report that the runners dont line up with the ports/it fould the steering coloumn etc.. I decided to get ...
