Emailed him back for price and delivery and haven't heard back again, that was a week or so ago. :-( He took a while to get back to me mate, I t...

Was going to say, i'm so glad that you got a replica of the original plate. so so so much better than the new font plates you get in Halfords, they look utterly wrong

Re: Inner rear arch repair and rear valance

My Storm had it's rear arches repaired using Mk1 Golf inners. What does the bodyshop say? Mine were done by a VW specialist who knows his way around Sciroccos. the bodyshop i took it to has been around since the 50s and gets an excellent write-up on the local VW and BMW forums etc. they show their ...

Re: Number of storms made ( official vw letter )

Well that was very interesting.

I see all those eBay ads that talk about "only 600 mk2 Storms ever sold" will have to be slightly revised!

Re: My 82 1.6 GTI

It saved my backside on the long drive home. For that I will be eternally grateful. Got the wee light working too. Bad connection in the wiring.

Re: My 82 1.6 GTI

Hasn't been much to report recently. the car is still a rattly rustbucket but it's been running reliably for weeks and seems to relish the use it gets as a daily driver. In keeping with my OEM drive, I coughed up £20 to get this (to replace the Timpsons special that came with the car, which looked l...

Re: Mk2 Boot Lock Seal Replacement

It's not difficult, i did mine a couple of months ago there are four screws holding everything in place in total. take the lock mechanism out of position and fit the seal to the hole. the one piece of advice i would give you is to remember that when you're pushing the boot lock through the new seal,...

Rattly suspension

The right front suspension is making a fearsome clatter on my car - usually on poor surfaces and speed bumps. OK on smooth roads.

It is a rattle/clatter, and pretty sure it's just from one side.

What does anyone think - I suspect top mounts.
