I bought one a few years ago to retrofit in my scirocco but never got around to finding someone to wire it..

its on the back of the clocks, its a black block that attaches to the main unit with some screws and a ribbon cable. I found mine was faulty and replaced it. Eventually even that one went. Will likely be the speed sensor based on your last post. Could be the vacuum pipe too (to the back of the clocks).

+1 we have a car hoover but its small, loud and fills up quickly with lack of suction. As above get the Dyson in there.
