OK,thanks for the replies.
Looks like a project for spring 2026. If I can get one..... Most sites listing them state out of stock, including VW Heritage. I did find https://vwgolf1.com/index.php/product/m ... 172419523/ on the GolfMk1 forum.

Steering column plastic boot in engine bay - how important?
I have noticed that the plastic boot covering the steering column to steering rack in the engine bay is cracked and open in places through no fault other than old age! How important is it to get it sealed and replaced?

Re: New Heater Blower Fitting
Job done. Note to others. Getting the old blower out is mostly a destructive process as clips break on the old plastic and it is a bit of a faf rotating the blower around to get to each clip. Don't expect it to come out unscathed.

I know this is an old thread, but update from me, having to go through replacement of the unit. I bought a Febi replacement and it looks exactly the same.

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge / Sensor
Yes, they are both mentioned in the manual, but with no indication of which engines have both. I think the low pressure one would be the only one relevant to a flickering warning light at idle. The parts diagram suggests if only the low pressure sensor is fitted, it would be mounted either in the ...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge / Sensor
I found a post on a golf forum that suggests that the oil light and warning is based on 2 sensors - dynamic oil pressure sensor. One for low pressure and one read when the revs are over 2000rpm. https://www.reflectionsandshadows.com/cabby/dopws.html Is that valid to the Scirocco as well (Scala 1.8 ...

Oil Pressure Gauge / Sensor
The oil pressure warning is flickering on (sometimes) at tickover. I am not convinced there's an issue with the overall pressure and I suspect maybe the sender is on it's last legs after 35 years.
First question: Does anyone have details of what the sender should be measured at when working ...

Re: New Heater Blower Fitting
Resurrecting - My heater blower is on it's last legs and will need replacing in the spring. eefy's guide link seems to go to a dead end now. Does anyone have a new link or instructions as to how to remove / replace the blower?
