Re: Carbon Fibre Panels
I would need to weigh them but I would estimate a bonnet at 12kg and tailgate 8kg without glass. So they are probably about a third of the weight. I wish there was a more cost effective solution but as always Scirocco bits are just harder to come by. If anyone has any alternatives I would love to ...

Carbon Fibre Panels
Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to post this. I have been looking at ways to reduce the weight of my Mk1 Rocco and have been in touch with a manufacturer of carbon panels. In particular I was looking at the tailgate and bonnet. The company I have been in contact with is CPH Carbon ...

Re: Mk 1 Exhaust
Have a Jetex 2.5” stainless on mine, not too loud, engine makes good power, the next one will be custom. Some fabricators are better than others so get recommendations, if you’re in the North East I can help. Used stainless systems crop on ebay etc and might make for a cheap option if cash is tight. ...

Re: Mk1 Storm rear seat removal
All sorted. The clip (number 2) needs to be opened then the pin can be dropped down and out. The other end then slides out. Cheers

Re: Mk1 Storm rear seat removal
Thanks for the reply. So is the u-clip number 2 in the diagram? Looking from above the pins are kind of hidden by a stuck on vinyl cover over that area that might be peculiar to the Storm.

Mk1 Storm rear seat removal
Hi all, hope everyone is safe and well. Just doing a bit of spannering on the old Rocco and have hit an unforeseen stumbling block! I can’t remove the one piece rear backrest. I have the base out easily enough but the back is driving me mad. It’s a ‘79 Storm without the split rear seat. It feels like ...

Re: Brake Pedal Box
Thank you both for your input. I always thought mk1 Golf and Rocco shared a bulkhead, well actually most things! It was actually the HRP column I was looking at so hopefully should fit without to much chopping!

Brake Pedal Box
Hi all. I am thinking of installing a pedal box so I will have two master cylinders and do away with the original setup and linkage bar. The system I am looking at adds the box to an existing steering column which is an exchange item. Has anyone ever remove their steering column, is it a dash out ...

Mk1 Door mirror fix
Whilst washing the Rocco I went to dry the water that gathers in the bottom of the door mirror housing and because I pushed too hard I broke the brittle tabs that hold the glass to the adjusters. I am furious with myself!! Has anyone done this before and how did you get round it? It looks bloody ...

Re: Mk1 Bumper Clip/Guide
Thanks for the pic. It is part 20,21 and 22 in the lower drawing, the problem is I don’t know how to access the nuts that hold the guide onto the rear quarter panel.

Mk1 Bumper Clip/Guide
Does anyone know how to remove the plastic guides that locate the sides of the rear bumper? I can see the nuts on the inside of the front wings so the front is not a problem but I can’t work out where they are located on the inside of the rear panel. I want to unbolt them rather than just hacking t ...

B-pillar trims
I am thinking of removing the black b-pillar trim on th Mk1 as per the earlier cars, has anyone done this mod? It looks like the rear side window needs the boomerang withe the extra side and that the existing seal just needs the aluminium trim putting in. On the front side windows do I need a ...
