MK2 Scirocco GT 1.6 '87 - £1000 ONO - REDUCED
This car has been my pride and joy for the last 8 years, I am the 3rd owner, the first was a Lady who owned it for 19 years, it was then part-exchanged to a garage where I bought it and have owned it since. I am selling only because I am being offered another Classic vehicle which has been in my ...

Re: Fitting fuel pump and switch
Thanks for the reply. I am still trying to figure out what is going to be the best safety device (Rollover[inertia] or Oil pressure switch) Had a think about the wiring earlier. And the oil pressure switch I am thinking of fitting recommends a Momentary Switch as a primer for the pump. Got a diagram ...

Fitting fuel pump and switch
Hi Everyone, I am considering adding an electronic fuel pump, regulator and rollover switch to my 1.6 GT. A series of Mechanical pump issues in the past and fuel delivery issues has made me think about having a more reliable pump source. I have spec'd up an image of how I am thinking of installing ...

Re: Rubbing/Grinding Noise?
Are you running with standard wheels? Yeah standard steelies, the pads are fairly new and the rear break shoes are pretty much brand new. I'll take a look at the guard for the discs tomorrow as theres a chance they were banged out of shape and it might be time for new brake discs (only 2 years old ...

Rubbing/Grinding Noise?
Hi Everyone, I know that many of these "Where is this noise coming from?" posts are more like asking how long is piece of string? But this time I am a bit baffled. Starting at the beginning; I had an inner CV boot and joint replaced and was told my rear engine mount was perished so I had all of the ...

so in response to mark1gls, the cv's do click slightly on full lock, not on reverse so much as forwards. It isn't as severe as I would expect but they are clearly worn.

Re: Advice needed! Noise coming from centre of car...
Hi
the gearbox oil is brand new as it had it changed at the garage yesterday. I will check full lock tonight when I get back from work. Thanks
edit: there are no leaks from the gearbox

Advice needed! Noise coming from centre of car...
Hi Guys, my mk2 decided to start making a noise all of a sudden shortly after xmas. It sounds like a metallic rattling/grinding noise, and initially it started at 30+ MPH going up or down hill. It isn't steering, or brake related (I don't think!) as I get no noise response when doing either of these ...

Re: MK2 Horn
This issue is now resolved Many thanks for the contribution. Just in case this happens to anyone else, it was a combination of dodgy steering horn wiring and a blown fuse. (Fuse 18. which is the fuse for the horn relay / cruise control / throttle switch / coolant level & temperature warning light ...

I've connect one of the horns directly to the battery and it works but I could whip it out and take a look at the second one :)

MK2 Horn
Hi. I know it might seem like a mundane issue but I really am stuck! I have checked the ign live to the horns terminals under the bonnet. Multimeter says ok. I have cleaned the earth next to the UJ cleaned one near the 13mm bolt and also the multimeter reads resistance at both ends. I have checked ...

Re: Noisy belt?
Big thanks to Risocco, I loosened the tensioner and this solved my whining problem.
James, I'm going to keep an eye on the pulley in the next week and see if the correct tension makes all the difference, If not looks like a trip to the internet is required for new parts!
