Re: Drain holes and windscreen seal
I completely agree with you- but I've just spent a fortune getting it through an MOT, and there are so many things wrong with it I don't know what to fix first, or where to spend my next car budget money. At the moment it's all about damage limitation. I just need to get it watertight for now so tha...

water in the fusebox/ wet relays
The windscreen has been leaking into the fusebox on my '92 GTII, probably for several months, but I only pinpointed the problem yesterday after ruling out all the other possible leaks. I've tried to dry the worst of the water up, and have been advised to use a hairdryer to get it completely dry agai...

Re: Drain holes and windscreen seal
I've gaffertaped the offending corner of the windscreen as an emengency measure and it now seems watertight- checked for other leaks around the grommets and bonnet cable etc and they all seem ok, so now i just need to seal the windscreen. Wish it would stop raining occasionally so I could fix stuff ...

Drain holes and windscreen seal
My GTII is full of water on the passenger side. Thought it was residual water from when the sunroof was leaking in the summer at first but have now discovered, after dismantling most of the front of the car, that it's coming through the bottom of the windscreen. As a result the fusebox is very wet (...

Mark 2 sunroof seal
Hi, please can anyone help? I've got a 1991 GTII with a tilting sunroof that has been leaking since I bought the car a year ago. I've been looking for a replacement seal but no one seems to know what type I should get. The sunroof is a plain piece of glass which has nothing around the edge. The only...

Re: Electric windows
The saga of my electric windows continues- got them working perfectly with the original parts after cleaning up all the contacts (with a bit of help from my father-in-law.) They worked for two days consistently, then would only work once when I first started the engine, so I could open them one day ...

Electric windows
Hi, I'm trying to replace my electric window system as they've been stuck shut for the last year. I've got a complete set of replacement parts taken out of another scirocco so i was hoping to just swap them over. My lovely Haynes manual says I need to open the windows in order to remove the lifting ...
