I have encountered a rather annoying poroblem whilst trying to remove the lower strut brace on the rear suspension, where it joins the axle beam. I am about to embark on this attempt to replace my rear axle beam and was wondering whats the best thing to rust protect the new beam im putting on? any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you thats a very kind offer i have already bought a mk1 golf axle beam from a mate for £20 and will attempt to fit it this weekend if no joy id be extremly gratefull if your offer still stood? thanks again

Well after many many hours of loving labour, panel beating, parts sourcing and emptying my wallet asthetically you'd bearly know, however obviously i still need a rear axle beam so thank you very much for the reply. Don't do it!!!
Never ever put budget tyres on mk2 Scirocco gt2 no matter how skint you are. because the damage you incure by spinning into a tree costs alot more than a decent set of tyres!
