Re: Rattles and squeaks
Mine is awful for rattles, with the main one coming from the sunroof. I havent had a look at it but if I push the smaller opening up it stops so for now I have a football stud wedging it.
There is a very small chance this piece of information will help, hope it does!

Re: Waiting for a call.
Well the damage was worse than I thought and a previous repair plate had already been bolted on. I had one of the mk1 golf kits put on for now as a temp fix, but it looks like I will need it properly welding up sooner rather than later as the whole bulkhead is flexing quite bad when I dip the clutch ...

Waiting for a call.
Car has been off the road for 2 weeks now and I don't know what was wrong with me but I never did anything to get it sorted. However yesterday I rang a local French car specialist whose mechanic owns a Scirocco and they could fit me in for 8:30 this morning  Woke up all excited ready to ...

Re: Fancy contributing to the club magazine?
Did the cambelt one ever get done? Changed mine recently and could probably put something together from the pictures I took.
Also planning on reinforcing the bulkhead with a Mk1 Golf kit in the near future if that will be of any use?

Re: Plastic Fuel Filler Necks?
I used a mk1 golf one on my 92 Scala. After a bit of chopping it fitted fine. Does seem to poke a little at the top and sit slightly differently yes, but has not caused a problem. The only issue is I don't have a locking cap at the moment - I never have more that a student amount of fuel anyway ...

Re: Clutch cable pulled through bulk head!
How much changing needs to be done to the mk1 golf repair kit to get it to fit? Does it need drilling?

Re: Clutch problem...
Yeah didn't know that existed but found a few posts on here the other day. Have you done it yourself? Is it a good repair? Don't want it happening again in the near future.Nate wrote:just buy the stick on repair plate. would be worth drilling the ends of the cracks to stop them spreading too

Re: Clutch problem...
Been very unmotivated for some reason, however I am fairly confident that it is the bulkhead issue. I am not sure what it is supposed to look like, but it is at a funny angle and looks to have been pulled through. Thinking of maybe taking it to C&R in Notts and having it sorted there, would I be ...

Shame you are selling this! Looks amazing.
Great tread read first thing on a Monday with a coffee! It has also given me some motivation to have my Scirocco sorted.

Yeah, that was last year sometime when he mentioned it may need some welding at some point. I shall do that and take a look when I get home.

Re: Clutch problem...
I had a quick look at the bulkhead and it didn't look as if anything was different. What would it look like if it has given up?
The guy at C&R said it would need welding in the near future because it was on the way out.
Would that cause this problem then?

Clutch problem...
I am having trouble with my clutch. Basically the pedal is not returning to the top after being pressed. It stays about ¾ of the way down and moves freely within that range. I can just manage to get it in gear, but it takes quite a lot of force and crunches badly. It seems as if it would be an issue ...
