Re: Finally tuned my scirocco 16v r1
thats fly wheel, think it was 120ish i think, both totals im bowled over with. I do wonder if a less abused engine would be much better, so chatting to a friend and might have a go at porting and polishing.

After a couple of months of pottering around to make sure nothing came lose or fell off. Finally got round to having it rolling roaded and tuned. Well im happy to say £120 and a few hours later, its done and 140bhp, which im really happy with considering the engine is 22 yrs old and completely ...

Re: Introducing my Scirocco 16V R1 Bike carbed goodness
Yeah its relativly straight forward. Just the manifold is the tricky bit but i can supply that. Like i said in an earlier reply i didnt know sod all 2 years back and now ive managed this.
Speed wise its faster than the 8v but its got alot more to give.

Ahh nice, MPG wise its not a major concern of mine as my main car is an xj8 so its only my play thing.
Power wise im not going to spectulate till ive had it rolling roaded and fuel adjusted.

Re: Introducing my Scirocco R1 16V.
The alternator needed moving as the carbs would foul it if not moved down slightly. Also the water pipe coming out the front of the engine needs chopping and ally welded back pointing down more, again so it doesnt foul the carbs

Re: Introducing my Scirocco R1
Regarding the 16v conversion i was told at Bristol Volksfest by a chap with a minters white one told me that it wasn't just a case of plug and play. YES IT WAS!!!! But the trick is that you need to use the loom out of an early mk2 16v, as later mk2's wiring loom is im told is linked into things like ...
