Re: Water in rear footwells !!

Oh, sorry for not coming back sooner. This one is odd, and this has happened to this car before, since early December when I discovered the "lake" and dried it all out, it's been as dry as a bone in there. It's parked in the same place and has had plenty of rain on it these last few weeks....

Re: Water in rear footwells !!

Yeh but, on it's way, it would leave the front carpets wet, wouldn't it?

Fingers crossed for a suitable day over the weekend to have a proper look. It's been really cold this week here, but at least it's not been raining.

Plan on having a look later today. I park with the front slightly uphill.

Re: Water in rear footwells !!

I don't think the headlining would necessarily be wet if the drainage pipes have gone AWOL, rather than been blocked. It's quite common for the metal tubes that the plastic pipes connect to, to rust through, so the pipes can fall off. Then you'll just have water draining out through holes in the co...

Re: Water in rear footwells !!

Thanks for the info folks, especially about where the sunroof drain pipes end up. I don't think it's that, but as soon as we get a day when it's not at minus temperatures, I will check doors, door seals, and whilst I'm fiddling, check the sun roof drain pipes anyway. I'll report back :)

Re: strut brace set on ebay

I fitted a lower one to my 85 GTS a few years ago. It definitely tightened the handling up.

Re: Water in rear footwells !!

Thanks for the suggestions folk :) Steve - No signs of rust anywhere around the wind screen, and the front carpets are dry. The edmundator - The boot is dry too, so don't think it's coming in there. I would love to have a better understanding of the sun roof drainage system. If it's blocked, wouldn'...

Water in rear footwells !!

Had water in the rear footwells on another Rocco I used to own. Fixed that OK. It was leaking in from a dodgy seal on the rear light cluster and running from the boot to the rear footwell. Fixed it with Tiger Seal. However, I was shocked and horrified to find a similar problem on our current car. Ne...

As long as the timing is set correctly, it shouldn't make any difference at all being 180 out. The sparks will still be arriving at all the plugs at the right time if you think about it.

Re: Driving the dream?

Having got a bit of a head gasket problem on my VW T25 flat 4 ( = usually a load of trouble on that engine) I have just last week started to use the Rocco (which "she" calls "hers" :? ) as my daily driver, not actually having driven it much at all in recent months. I too know wha...

Where is it now = E252DTM - Black GTX

After spotting a very nice looking black MKII a couple of days ago, I was prompted to look up my old black GTX on the "is it taxed and mot'd" thing, and it is :-D

Just wondering if anyone knows where it lives now?
