i havent had a proper look at the car yet. some of them did have immobilisers, ill see. i hear its quite possible to get round the stop solenoid.

i never read that engine conversion info before, what a great service! anybody want to do a diesel engine conversion guide? im looking at a 1995 passat 1.9td engine and wanted to know if it needs any extra silly electronics or if its the simple pump like the older 1.6td. cheers

if its just a bit on the sills needing welding its not a big job for anyone with a welder. arches would be a little harder but still not terminal. fuel pipes easy, suspension is easy. i would only get the garage to do the brakes. the seat probably just needs new plastic runners which is a 5 min job.

got to unbolt the rear axle i believe. not necessary to take it off completely. undo pipes and plug from inside the car. undo arch liner to get the breather pipes etc. the supporting bolts should come off the tank ok. should just fall out then. not too sure exactly cos i only took one off the ...
