Re: Crappiest Car I have driven!!!!!!!!
Usually the "crap factor" of a car, directly relates to how much you spend buying it. Not so if its French! I've had old and nearly new French cars, and they have all(bar one) been an utter sack of horse droppings. I wont go into the failings as it would take an eternity, and as i've only ...

Re: 9 Inch Rears - Pic Request!
I think fronts were 205/45x16, a bit too wide, got a smidgen of tyre rub on inner wing when on full lock, shouldve been 195 or even 185s. Rears were 215/45 x 16.

Re: 9 Inch Rears - Pic Request!
Here ya go pal. It was on weitec springs and shocks when this was taken. On Avo coilies now, and back on BBS's. Needed the rear arches rolling and pic shows it with a drop of 35-40mm. Had now issues of rub once arches were done. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee311/seamusmcmad/20120820_163228.jpg

Injector issue/query
Today i was attempting to swap my injectors from my late(1991)DX engine into my rebuilt TSR motor, when i came across a problem. The later injectors wont fit into the earlier seats, so i removed the caps from the end of the later type injectors and refitted them into the early seats. Is this arrange...

Re: crankshaft pulley?
Drain coolant into a bucket or other suitable receptacle, slacken drive belt and remove belt, undo the 3x jubilee clips holding the hoses on, mark which is which just in case, slacken 4 x alan bolts on pump body, remove pump and rubber seal/o ring, remove thermostat, clean mating faces with a bit of...

Re: URGENT Help needed!!!
To be honest, it'll be a piece o p*ss doing the engine as its a Dx lump thats been breathed on by TSR. Its an old Brands Hatch lump, that i've just totally rebuilt it so it should be good for a few thousand miles. The pain will be the 4 branch and sorting my brakes out if owt. Got engine bay to clea...

Re: URGENT Help needed!!!
Cheers for the help guys we've found out the problem. The timing was way out!!!! Went old school and got cyl1 to TDC, got the cam sent to cyl1 and after finally finding the mark for TDC on the dizzy casting she fired up straight away. Run sweet now just got a few other thing to tidy up and she be b...

Re: URGENT Help needed!!!
You can run the engine without coolant, but dont do it for long. I wouldn't run it more than a minute or so. Try swapping ht leads over for the opposite number just to see if it is 180 degrees out. Whats the spark like? Is it a nice bright blue spark? If it looks yellow/weak, then once its under com...

Re: URGENT Help needed!!!
Timing most likely.
A common thing that happens is that it ends up 180 degrees out, easily done. Just swap the ht leads on the dizzy cap for the on opposite. Not neccesarily the correct way, but definitley the quickest.

Just took me back a 30 years that did. Used to fuel my old field bikes with that stuff. 2 star, 3 star, 4 star and the diesel pump was usually tucked away in some dank corner of the forecourt on its own and about 20p a litre!!
