Re: "spoiler" or "no spoiler" that is the question

It might give you more rear view, but unfortunately
where the glass curves,it gives a distorted rear vision

Re: Very Low idle, not cutting out but kinda annoying!

Lol, Pm me ur address and I'll dig the badges out - I think I've still got the scala ones for the B pillars as well! Your car is well sound mechanically, I did loads of miles in it and it just got faster and faster  The carb has a leaking mount which is letting a bit or air in hence the ...

Re: Very Low idle, not cutting out but kinda annoying!

Hey Tweak,
What colour is your 'rocco, sounds suspiciously like my old motor.
'Twas greeny/blue when I had it, a guy called Lewis bought it off me
and started to paint it white! - not the same car is it?
Funky pic of it in my sig. - I still got the tailgate badges for it

which seats?

Do front seats from a mk2 or mk3 golf fit easily into a mk2 rocco?
Any other swaps that work well with a rocco?

Yep, I usually give em a squirt either end, ie behind pulley and into split rings/
commutator thingamygiggin. Works on noisy belts as well, not slipping ones tho'

Re: Corroded fuel filler neck

Didn't someone post on here about using a modified
BMW 3 series filler neck. It's made from plastic and
can be moulded with a hot air gun to fit the rocco?

- or was I dreaming again :chill:

Re: 'Whistly' alternator...

WD40 is your friend - a good dose will quieten it down.
Probably get shot down for the answer, but I've been
doing that for years on all sorts of belt driven things!

Re-setting mfa?

This is prob a stupid question but how do you reset the
mpg/mph etc readings?
Got myself an injected scala last night so would like to know
what sort of mpg I'm getting.

Re: steering column lock housing

Recently done same job on a golf mk3, the shear bolts are as said an anti theft :chortle: device. Just get a sharp 1/2 inch cold chisel and a small hammer, place chisel on outer edge of rounded shear bolt at about 45 degree angle and tap the bolt around - it comes loose quite easily cos the head of ...

Re: Spotted

Hey Joe,
Nice to see another Rocceteer in the Exeter area!
Do you know of any others?
Yeah it was the same car - I'm useless at trying to
read number plates in my overtake mirror (especially
with my shades on)

Seat cannibalisation

Does anyone know (before I start pulling seats apart) if its possible to remove just the drivers seat squab (fabric and foam) and replace it with one from a better example? I am about to aquire my second rocco and want to use the unworn fabric and foam from Ratty roccos passenger seat to reupholster ...
