As far as im aware the hubs are the same.

But, the hub carrier is different from a mk1 to a mk2. The suspension bolt holes are in different locations.

As said I removed the carpet as Im removing the air ride, but I also plan to run it with no carpets and have the floor shine better than the extreior. I want to give it the 'race car' look. Thanks! Yeah the other Golfs, the Mars Red mk1 is getting a full hit. Just fitted 2 x rear arches and a real panel, nearly ready for paint. Got about 5 mk2 Golfs in the unit, one is getting a engine transplant that isnt from the VAG range, but thats a while off being built. Others are just on going ...
