Re: 78 Daily driver
Turns out the unicorn one owner car was a mk2 so no good to me. The R32 motor is about 3 weeks away still for the Corrado, but I'm moving house soon so need both cars on the road. The mk1 now has the pre-facelift front end on. Guards are in primer and bootlid also. I added a bootlid from an 81 car ...

Re: 78 Daily driver
No updates on the mk1 as such.... The motor in the Corrado seized though so I bought an R32 motor ex Japan. That should be here mid-late July and has sucked up a lot of spare money for now. Just yesterday though I was told of a mk1 rocco for sale. ONE owner from new, full service history, always ...

Re: 78 Daily driver
Sat some early wings & lights on the car along with some french spec hella lights. I think I like it, so will go ahead and convert the front end to pre-facelift.

Re: 78 Daily driver
Car arrived today. I'm pretty happy with the condition, not much rust and a really straight body. It has 91,000 miles on it so fairly low for a 1978 car. First thing I did was put some gas in it and go for a drive, not a bad for having been asleep for ten years. More pics in the next few days. First ...

78 Daily driver
Gidday lads, Have just bought myself a 78 facelift mk1 rocco. I already have a 76 project but when this thing came up I had to have it. I got it for $2k (around 1000 pounds) here in New Zealand. The plan is to tidy it up as much as possible, fit some nice bits that I have and use it for daily duties ...

Re: Introduce yourself
Cheers GTXTRA! I'm based in Auckland. We have a small VW scene in NZ and only 1 mk1 rocco member in the club so figure this is where i'm going to learn! I recently found some NOS tail lights for the rocco here in Auckland, great score!!GTXTRA wrote:VeeDub wrote: Huge welcome Tristan - whereabouts in NZ?

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi, i'm Tristan from New Zealand. I have a 1990 Corrado 16v daily driver (one of 13 NZ New cars) which i'm currently finishing a set of BBS RS003s for (16x7.5 and 16x8). I have also recently picked up a 1977 mk1 GLS (rarer than the corrado around here!). The Corrado is quite nice, once the rims are ...

That's a seriously beautiful mk1 mate. Is that platinum silver metallic?
