recently bought some struts off a member and they seem in working order. the original ones i had with the car never worked, so nothing to compare to. they new ones don't come close to holding the boot up! doesn't take any of the weight! could the wiper motor etc be heavy enough to make a difference?...

Just ordered 2 new gas lifters for the tailgate from SGS... could you let me know what they are like. will they fit(seems a tight squeeze where they fit to the body of the car.) Car looks solid. I have a cosmos silver mk1 but really like your colour. Black those bumpers and tyres, such a little thin...
