Re: STOLEN RED MK2 SCIROCCO 1.6 E115 WAM

Nope no one has been caught. Car was in a field very close to Writhlington School, apparently the second car to be dumped and burnt out around there in the past couple of weeks... so be extra vigilant if you're anywhere nearby.

Will definitely be investing in more security in future. It had a ...

Mini Steel Wheels - will they fit?

Hi,

I'm looking to replace my existing pepper-pot steel wheels. I was thinking of getting them refurbished but noticed that the 15" steel wheels fitted to the new Mini wheels look like a good match, and are relatively cheap to pick up off eBay. Has anyone tried fitting these?

Not sure what tyres I ...

Re: mk2 Scirocco - VW Gamma Radio (TIM 2h)

Yup tried leaving it on for more than 2 hours (48 hours in the end!) and also had the ignition on. Still no luck.
I have the code for the radio, but it never asks me to enter it and it never says SAFE.

Am starting remember why I hate modern electronics - should have gone for a period radio!

Re: mk2 Scirocco - VW Gamma Radio (TIM 2h)

Thanks for the replies, have been in contact with a local VW dealer who believes it is locked and have recommended somewhere local that offers a repair service. So will go and see what they think.

Thanks again!

Re: mk2 Scirocco - VW Gamma Radio (TIM 2h)

I think the red flashing light is just something to do with it not thinking the ignition is on, found a manual online which says something to that effect (http://www.westfaliat4.info/1998_VW_Gamma_Radio_User_Manual_English_WM.pdf).

Yup I have the pin - but I never get asked to enter it. Only thing ...

mk2 Scirocco - VW Gamma Radio (TIM 2h)

Hi,

I just bought a VW Gamma radio from fleaBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260966913363?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_500wt_1288) and went to test it. I get the message TIM 2h as soon as I turn it on, after a couple of seconds the display goes blank..? Some searching in the ...

Ahhhh thanks Nate that's realy helpful  !
I thought you had to cut those down for the smaller tank, and that they didn't fit the larger tank at all. Obvioulsy managed to misread all of the posts oops.
Just one question, think I saw somewhere it saying that those ...

Re: Plastic Fuel Filler Necks?

Ah okay, hadn't realised the BMW one had a lockable cap, my mistake  .

I don't have a problem with the steel necks (or better still stainless), but sourcing one in good nick isn't easy (or cheap), so was just looking at some alternatives.

I've been in contact with Europa, and apparently ...

Re: Plastic Fuel Filler Necks?

I was under the impression that the mk1 golf fuel filler necks only fit the earlier mk2 sciroccos with the smaller fuel tank?

Finding a lockable cap is a possibility. Was really more interested in the possibility of a making up some plastic replacements, I have made some enquires, but haven't had ...
