Re: New Brake Caliper Wobble

It looks like the pads are not bedded, have you been able to pimp the pedal so the piston puches against the pads?

Re: Disaster!

I would suspect the ignition module (in the scuttle area) or the injection pump relay. Both are relatively cheap and very easy to change.

Re: A/C System

I had a German market 16v with factory fit A/C The fan switch had a fourth setting for A/C which turned the cooling fan on as the engine works much harder. Re: KR Engine conversion

Google it (Golf Mk1 engine conversions) and you'll find loads of links. Not sure the slushbox will work with KR (or WHY) but probably do-able.

Re: Fuel filter removal gtx

Lift pump in tank, reservoir next to tank, pump, accumulator, engine bay filter, fuel metering head. Whereabouts in North London as I visit may parents in Enfield regularly and may be a...

I don't believe it-Passed MOT today after 4 years of neglect!

My GTX has been parked up and festering for four years so I pulled my finger out and did some refurb work on the engine which was starting to knock slightly under load, tidied up some pipework and generally gave it a bit of TLC- apart form the shocking paint which will have to wait. So booked her in...

Re: Coilovers?

If you fit anything but high quality coilovers you will ruin the ride and probably the handling, but it will look 'phatt' when slammed....... Good quality shocks (decent springs, don't lower more than 30mm, if those on the car are original) and polybushing with decent tyres will give better handling...
