Re: MK2 Scirocco insurance?

They will need to know of any modifications, particularly engine changes and they're not daft.
If you don't tell them everything you're in big trouble in the event of a claim and will find insurance very expensive thereafter.

Re: MOT Failure "Suspension Component Mounting"

The most dangerous rot is where the rear suspension beam bolts to the body and the most difficult and expensive to fix. I suggest you have the car looked at by someone who is a specialist on the VW A1 platform, my choice would be Ant at Rust Republic, Sean (GTXTRA on here) would probably suggest The...

Lancashire Vdubbers

There's a new club for all VWs started up in (East) Lancashire. This coming Sunday (9th) they've organised a run starting at The Brickworks in Accrington and going to Edisford Bridge (riverside and car park) in Clitheroe, aiming to be there at 10.15. I am planning to just go to Edisford with my cabr...

Re: Mk 2 MFA

It is behind the bumper. If you read the post higher up you'll see he states that.
To check it is reading correctly see if it's the same as a thermometer reading!

Re: Radiator temperature sensor.

Thanks for that.
I looked for the number on e-bay, it has 3 connecting pins whereas mine has 2, presumably single speed fan.
The next post down had a 2 pin sender, part number numerically the same nut but with B suffix.

Re: Red coolant

To swap to that is it necessary to completely get rid of other antifreeze in the system, red or blue?

Fuse box location, Corrado

Not really Scirocco, but a Corrado (close!) Does anybody know where the fuse box is on a Corrado and how to access it? All the info I can find says under the dash, driver's side. I think this is from the US, all the wires under the bonnet look to be going to the passenger side, as on Sciroccos and G...
