Hello folks, desperately seeking alternative engine for my VW Scirocco scala engine code DX. What other VW engines of that era are compatible ? I have been told a carb engine is not compatible and would require a lot of work - need to get an injection engine say from a mark 2 golf. Any thoughts ...

does anyone know how easy it is to swop a mark 2 golf engine in to a scirocco ( not that I can locate on of them either)

I have had my scirocco since 1998. In fact the beauty is on autotrader at moment, but that's not happening as the engine has seized! 214k on the clock so I guess I cannot complain. I need your help to source a replacement engine- I don't want to go the expense of a rebuild. I have two mouths to feed ...
