MK2 Fuel Filler Neck (Cabrio swap?)
Morning all. In the process of establishing why my Scala pulls like a wet lettuce, I've removed the filler neck, and it's not a pretty sight. It looks like it's been badly repainted in the past to cover up the rust and hide the poor condition. I'm going to get it vapour blasted to see the condition ...

Re: Advice on rough running MK2 Scala
Have replaced the vacuum on the dizzy with a new item and still having the same reluctant acceleration below 3000rpm.
Any other ideas where to look next?

Replacing entire front end / slam panel
Afternoon all, Heres another 'how do i?' question for you all! Can anyone explain how one goes about replacing the front end of a MK2? The car had a front impact in a previous life, meaning the bonnet no longer closes properly and it's all a bit of a mess so I'm thinking of tackling this next week w...

Replacing front engine mount
Hi all, can't seem to find anything in Haynes on how best to do this, so wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea of what's involved and the best way to do this.
Cheers!

Re: Advice on rough running MK2 Scala
Just checked and it's only moving literally a couple of mm when I suck on it, and nowhere near the full amount of movement it can do.
Does this sound like the potential culprit? If so, I just need to try and find another one now!

Re: Advice on rough running MK2 Scala
That's really useful, thanks Mark. The dizzy's vacuum advance is a great shout and I'll look into that later today. Having read up on it, it certainly matches the symptoms I've been having.
Also on the fuel side of things, I've filled her up with BP's finest super unleaded.

Advice on rough running MK2 Scala
Afternoon all, Looking for some advice on the rough running of my MK2 Scala, specifically at low revs. Over 3000rpm she runs much better (though still not perfect), but at low revs there's a distinct jerking, juddering and erratic acceleration where the car feels like it's struggling to evenly accel...

Help me identify these centre caps!
Hi all. Was looking through some of my old VW brochures and spotted these lovely centre caps. I'd love to know what they are, if anyone has any ideas? They'd be perfect for my Scala.

Where on earth did that estimate of £4,000 come from?!

Any recommendations for a garage in Gloucester area?
I'm after getting my MK2 Scirocco looked at, and the current garage that has it haven't even opened the bonnet after it being there for nearly a month, so it's time to look elsewhere. Can anyone recommend any good places in the Gloucester area that have maintained or recommissioned a MK2 in the past...
