Rising this thread from the ashes, as my rear valance is utterly knackered too. Having checked VW's german parts website, no luck on there. Don't suppose anyone has come across one of these recently for sale?

So having cleared away decade's of grease, it turned out the 2 bolts underneath the bracket had been welded on.
10 minutes with the dremel and the linkage is out.

I ended up returning them. No idea why the shape was different, but was a bit of a headscratcher that's for sure.

I've had another look and it looks like the caliper is actually a different shape to the VW originals, so it doesn't rest on the carrier properly. Not ideal!

Just as an update to this, (having replaced everything else) and spoken to a mechanic, it's looking like it's the exhaust manifold that is most likely causing the issue.

The aerial on my Scala is knackered so I'm thinking of just removing it and plugging the gap. Can't seem to find anything in the Haynes bible for accessing it, so was wondering if anyone could advise how you get to it behind that front wing?
