Thanks Mr. Brown, when it’s off I’ll check out the part number and work out what it’s been taken off, it did look a little out of place. During the build I’ll be looking at bigger front brakes anyway if I can get hold of some G60 callipers and adapter plates.

Yea, I think so too. The gear linkage mounts that attach to the rack are similar, but I think will be ok with some grinding. I will have a go and wire brushing and grinding and see how thin it looks in places. This one has really suffered with the sea air.

So, the second shell is now at the body shop, with the first one being consigned to the dustbin/stripped for parts, but the project is a goer! The gti engineering 1.9 bottom end is on its way and the parts will be slowly refurbed as time goes on!
