Re: Mk2 rear brake problems.

Too true, it can be hard work tracing the exact part you need at times. All worth it though, I’m glad to be back owning one! I’ll post a few pics up in the main forum soon!

Re: Mk2 rear brake problems.

Re: Mk2 rear brake problems.

The shoes are like new, no contamination at all. The cylinders were only changed because the bleed nipples sheared off. The handbrake works extremely well so surely the friction surfaces must be okay? That’s my thinking anyway. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Hi, not been a member on here for all that long. Been meaning to post more but I’ve been working flat out on my latest scirocco. The problem I’m having is I can’t seem to get the rear brakes to bite well enough to get an MOT. I’ve replaced the wheel cylinders on both sides and new rear flexis. I’ve ...

Thanks mate, I sold my last one in 2012, always kept an interest though. Been up to the neck with series Land Rovers since mind! I did have a Corrado 16v around 5 years ago but I didn’t get on with it. I bet that was a good shakedown run, I always think if it makes it home it’ll probably be a good ...

Re: Introduce yourself

Those non body kit cars seem to be like rocking horse poo! I always preferred them to the later ones. I’m afraid you might be a bit far away for me though, especially given the situation at the moment! Appreciate the heads up though, if anything changes I’ll give you a call, assuming nobodies ...

Re: Introduce yourself

Hi from Derbyshire, just signed up yesterday. I’ve been away from Sciroccos for a while, previously had a gt2 followed by a gt, when they were a lot cheaper! Anyway, I’m on the lookout for a new project and thought it was about time I had another!
