Re: Regular noise with road speed, bearings or brakes?
I've had trouble with odd wheel bolts on this car before with the drums and one being too long. Could it possibly be the bolts are holding the wheel unevenly?

So I've ruled out a bent wheel, and warped disc. With the new disc on I gave the wheel a gentle turn to feel for the noise, old pad dust came off in a pattern. As you can see from pic above the pads are touching disc for some of the rotation which is what I believe ...

Re: Regular noise with road speed, bearings or brakes?
I have exactly same on mine - brakes / discs seem ok and I suspect bearings however, tyres are mega rock hard compound and noisy as hell - these now off awaiting some nice sensible Pirellis on original snowflakes - but cannot take it further until I get the gear box back in!!! Will be interested ...

Regular noise with road speed, bearings or brakes?
The front end of my Rocco has developed a light noise which sounds like a train "Ch Ch Ch Ch Ch" which increases with road speed but can't be heard about 30. It's independent of engine and I think it's coming from the front right wheel. I jacked up the car and gave the wheel a spin and you could ...

Re: Rear driver side leak
Seems like you were bang on. I put some bitumen sealant around the brackets and that seems to have stopped the leak.blakey wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 1:43 pm Rear spoiler mounting points [emoji106]

Rear driver side leak
I'm having real trouble fixing a leak on my gt2. The water pools below the rear driver side taillights just under the rear washer bottle.
I've been keeping a sponge there for when it rains, but I've done nearly every seal now and it's still leaky.

Re: Trouble starting after HG change
Gave it an oil change with 10w40 before a long trip on Friday. It hasn't missed a beat performance wise but the noise is still sort of there.

Re: Trouble starting after HG change
Took it for a good drive today, 40 minutes or so. The tappet noise was there when I stopped and opened the bonnet afterwards. Returned when the engine was hot. Any ideas why?

Just took it for a bit of a drive and the noise has gone, it must have been the tappets refilling

Re: Trouble starting after HG change
I double checked timing marks on sprockets, dizzy, flywheel and with a screwdriver down the hole. The dizzy wasn't quite marked up so after tipexing the old position just in case I advanced it to line the rotor with the tdc mark. This made things run! I timed it up to the 6dbtc mark with my gun and ...
