Re: cambelt help....

So as it turns out it wasn't me trousers up!! At least not in the way I thought. I couldn't get it running nicely after triple checking timing marks and adjusting dizzy, but no cigar. Apparently the dizzy was shorting somewhere? Didn't have a chance to pick up the car before they closed to ask them ...

Re: cambelt help....

So the cambelt/timing annoyance continues, my distributor is totally seized basically had the mounting nut out and the thing is stuck solid. I am beginning to feel like my quest to save money and learn some skills was a stupid idea. I've tried gentle leverage and tapping, penetrating oil, got the en...

It does seem like the timing is slightly off, idles with a rhythmic stuttery effect, though I have no strobe its on my to order list. As I...

Re: First time roccer

Although it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows with the day, various rummagings around the car have found that, the front passenger side jacking point has a rusted through hole to the side of it, I think this is because there is evidence of a previous break in attempt at the top of the door from befor...

Re: First time roccer

Successful day today! Took off the old plasticy gear linkage and replaced it with the missinglinkz a1e kit! bit of a task some bits, some skillful contortion, but with some help from a mate we got there. Currently on the 25% shift reduction setting and seems nice after a short drive with it today. A...
