hi all, just thought id share a short story of the quite nice events that happened today

so a few months ago while driving with a bit too much enthusiasm I lost my left hand mirror to a close wall, this has been a great annoyance ever since, and has been a "ill get round to it" job until now ...

all sorted now guys, it was the dipstick tube after all, the old tube you could pull the stick out with one finger now it actually requires force to pull it out and push it back in lol I love a cheap fix

I can confirm that the hose is completely clear apart from the usual oil lining the insides of it

ok ive ordered a new tube, so cheap might as well try it,

the other cause ive thought of, ive got an after market panel air filter on my carb with a simple 90degree plastic plumbing fitting for the breather on it, maybe the fitting it too narrow and is restricting it that way?

I did a compression test before I did all the head gasket work and has readings of 160 on cly's 1-3 and 115 on cyl 4 (the snapped ring one)
upon further investigation cyl 3 had blown between the combustion chamber and the water channel,

after all repairs the compression was 150 across all cylinders ...

my head gasket blew a while ago and cracked a ring at the same time, so new rings all round, bores honed, head skimmed and rebuilt etc.

runs well but breathes a lot of oil for some reason now and when driven hard it blows the dipstick out, and subsequently a lot of ...

bumpstops currently arnt fitted I removed them when I changed the springs because they were pretty knackered, new ones are on order tho, I ordered new ones when I changed the springs also

camber I set by eye, currently set slightly in, steering feels fine with it, was going to get the camber set ...

hi guys, so ive been running 185/55/15 tyres all round without problems for a while.
i wanted to level out the suspension a little because it always rode a little higher in the front, so i cut a little off the front springs, this caused the front tyres to rub on the top of the arch when going over ...

recently done this upgrade myself, as far as I can see so long as you get a res that has the outlets close together in the photo it should fit (that's what I did anyway, heres a link to the one I bought

im looking for a part number for an inner CV to fit the "100mm" flanges on my 020 box, any help?

the burbeling idle im guessing is because of the low compression in 4, it starting sounding like that when the head blew so im guessing when it over heated it killed the rings at the same time :( nothing definitely fell into the cyl when it was being reassembled

ok so the car is back up and running ok but its blowing a lot of oil out the crank breather there seems to be a lot of crank pressure also because it blows the dipstick out, ive changed my mind and think the rings have died in cyl 4, but could this be anything else? the bores are mint and the valves ...

done a wet compression test and it went up to 150psi, we don't thing the rings are gone now as its not smoking and we have just noticed the intake rubber has split annoyingly
