Concerned? Don't be...
The scirocco has been out for an MOT. It needed some work to get it through with the advisory list done at the same time and all manner of smaller items [emoji1417]
I wasn't in a rush to get it back as a different 4 wheeled opportunity came about in the Roccos absence and ...

Re: Out of the blue GT2

You really need to re install the hot air feed (metal part fixed to the exhaust manifold) and connect the pipe up to the air intake or you will find the carb suffers from icing up. Not a problem in the warm summer months but come the damp cold spring/winter your car will start to cough and splutter ...

Re: Out of the blue GT2

unfortunately i dont no matey. normally when that part is broken it normally indicates that the flange is split through too much movement. my bet is the carb flange is the route to 90% of your problems.

I did notice the fixing was poor when I changed the filter but didn't appreciate the loading ...

Re: Out of the blue GT2

Thanks for the response gents [emoji1417]

Mark it is a Weber carb not the standard pierburg. I will look into replacing as below.

Re: Out of the blue GT2

Looking good buddy. Keep chipping away.

Beware leaning air freshners against anything. They melted the plastic streering column in my Audi when hung off the indicator stalk. Would hate for you to damage your seat.

Good shout. Wouldn't know what I'd be more annoyed about: damage to the seat or ...

Re: Out of the blue GT2

Had some fun over the last few days and nights using the scirocco and getting to know more of its plus and not so plus points!

Managed to sort the Matt paintwork so it is looking less neglected now
