Re: quarter vent fitting rubber to the glass
Thanks guys for the advice, had already tried the fairy liquid and indeed it was slippery ; also tried a number of different ways of getting the rubber around the glass starting from every corner of the triangular glass. Last night had a chat to a good mate who has more than a few Sciroccos and he ...

quarter vent fitting rubber to the glass
Any good tips on how to get the rubber trim around the glass ? It obviously is a tight fit , but so far have failed to come close to getting the rubber in place around the small triangular quarter vent glass. Short of using brute force.....but very wary as don't want to break either the glass or the ...

Re: Mk 2 Scirocco front and rear springs
Hi Tom, many thanks for that very informative reply. The state of play at the moment with the Storm is that the Eibach springs are now fitted on my Storm. It looks great , but due to lock down was only able to drive the car 4 miles from the local garage back to my house. On first brief impression ...

Re: Mk 2 Scirocco front and rear springs
Small world. Just checked out the video as the story sounded familiar and I was the first to comment on your brothers video.
Looks like a brave project to be honest.

Re: Mk 2 Scirocco front and rear springs
Hi Mark, look forward to hearing how you get on with restoring your Mothers Storm, what colour is it and what sort of condition ? A good contact is selling me a set of front springs which from the pictures I have seen, look to be in great condition and are from a Blue Storm which is now being broken ...

Re: Mk 2 Scirocco front and rear springs
Thanks for the heads up on that Mark. However, will most likely go for stock replacements as being a Storm , I reckon originality is everything. Got my original rear springs back yesterday and they have very clearly marked two yellow spots, but the front springs are just a mass of rust and nothing ...

Re: Mk 2 Scirocco front and rear springs
Further to my last post , have screen shot the information from 7Zap and this shows the variations of springs and their colour codes. Only trouble is it doesn't show which spring is applicable to what model. So guess one has to rely on seeing whats on your car originally assuming rust hasn't eaten ...

Re: Mk 2 Scirocco front and rear springs
Thanks Dave for the reply. All I can say is " My God, it's a complete hornets nest when it comes to finding what is the correct colour code " Have already checked out 7Zap and they list the Scirocco springs , front, under part number 171 411 051 However it appears with four different letters after ...

Mk 2 Scirocco front and rear springs
Can anyone tell me the colour code that is correct for Scirocco Storm mk 2 front springs please ?
I don't think the rear ones are colour coded but if they are, then also what colour code is applicable to them ?
Thank you.

Re: Mk 2 MFA
Thanks Mark, yes I possibly could but as I have also had to change the engine ( it arrived with a seized engine ) the mileage is not so relevant and if I keep the original instrument cluster its still proof of the cars original mileage ( along with MOT history ) and then when it gets it s next MOT ...

Re: Mk 2 MFA
To conclude this thread....bit the bullet and bought a new/secondhand instrument cluster. Fitted a few days back and it seems to all work but due to "isolating restrictions" have not been able to take the car out for a run. MFA now reading correct OAT ( outside air temp ) and a blank for the oil ...

Re: Mk 2 MFA
Thanks for that, the sensor for oil temp has been changed , no difference to the reading and as I said above, have not accessed the air temp sensor yet. However, I suspect your idea of a fault in the wiring or the printed circuit will most likely be the answer. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Mk 2 MFA
Thanks for the helpful reply.....but in fact the clock function , trip distance functions etc all work ok. So really don't understand why the readings on those two functions are as they are....if everything was blank I might agree with you.....

Mk 2 MFA
Looking for a few ideas why the MFA on my Mk 2 Scirocco is indicating a non changing display of 173'C on the oil "page", and an air temperature of 11'C , irrespective of whats going on in the engine and in the outside air . I have tried changing the oil temperature sender , but the air temp sensor ...

Re: Water leaks into the Boot, mk 2 Scirocco
Thanks for all the suggestions chaps. Right now the car is in the final stages of being re-commisioned, I'm hoping just a front exhaust pipe to fit which is hopefully coming in from Germany next week, a final timing check and then off for a MOT. Once that is done, the car can come home and I can ...
