Re: twin weber conversion

Twin DCOE's might be a bit overkill on a stock carb head, I think you'd need to get an uprated cam and head porting to get the benefit. Personally I'd go with Dells but I guess Webers are more plentiful secondhand. Bike carbs are used mainly as throttle bodies in custom injection setups, haven't ...

Re: Fog light poll

Maybe a UK thing, I couldn't find them in the original German brochures.

Fog light poll

I'm coming to the view that the add on under bumper fog lights are a bit naff, they don't look part of the design, but what do you think?

Re: How to: mk2 carburettor to injection conversion

My last turbo car was remapped from 1.0 bar to 1.5 bar boost, it made life interesting... well as interesting as 698cc can be lol. The engine life was around 100K miles but probably less, I never had any trouble with it. I'm not sure what the turbo was doing on the original Golf 1.8t VW engine, I ...

Re: How to: mk2 carburettor to injection conversion

I think your Scala needs tuning, 200BHP is a little conservative for that engine ;-)

Re: How to: mk2 carburettor to injection conversion

I was thinking of a bit higher than 150 odd BHP, more like 200BHP. Forced induction is good fun but I really don't think K-Jet would be able to supply the fuel for a 200+ engine. It does depend on money, another old school way is to use a 2.0 ABF with twin Dells for around 170BHP with KR cams and a ...

Hi!

After about 24 years without a 'rocco I'm thinking of getting back into it again. I'm on the lookout for a Scala or GT2, tempted by carb one for simplicity. Back in the day I had a few GT's and MK1 Storm (wish I'd kept it) and did many thousands of miles in them.

Re: How to: mk2 carburettor to injection conversion

Most people convert injection to carb but... best thing is to get a rotten donor car and swap the fuel tank, cylinder head, radiator etc over. Personally I think I'd go down the Megasquirt route as K-Jet has its limitations when getting more performance, but if you're bored it could be nice winter ...
